Cooperation with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT)

The Ministry provided support to the Committee in two areas:

Technical and financial support to SSCHR in creating and hosting its own website on the Internet: The Ministry provided advice to the SSCHR's Technical Secretariat (TS) to choose an Egyptian company to create SSCHR's website.  The Ministry also paid the necessary expenses to provide devices and servers for hosting the website for a period of at  one year.

Providing technical support to SSCHR in its discussions with the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR): A representative of the Ministry attended all initial technical meetings related to establishing a national database to follow up on the implementation of recommendations addressed to Egypt from international and regional human rights mechanisms (National Recommendation Tracking Database (NRTD)).

The NRTD is an electronic system that facilitates the process of recording, tracking and preparing national reports on the implementation of Human Rights recommendations issued by the treaty committees and relevant national mechanisms. The database allows for the systematic handling of Human Rights Mechanisms and the collection and management of information on the implementation of all human rights recommendations from various treaty bodies, which may reach hundreds of thousands. Thus, it is a tool that allows States to manage this information, in their local language and according to their needs, to prepare a plan to implement Human Rights recommendations.
