Cooperation with the National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development (NIGSD)
Within the framework of enhancing future cooperation between the SSCHR Technical Secretariat (TS) and NIGSD in integrating the Human Rights component into the training programs, provided by the Institute, a memorandum of understanding was signed between SSCHR and NIGSD. That is in addition to implementing a training program in February 2021 for the heads and directors of units of the SSCHR’s TS, which focused on management governance, foundations, patterns and characteristics of leadership, interaction skills and employees' motivation.
The NIGSD is a public body of a consultative, training and research nature, affiliated to the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development (MPED). It serves Egypt Vision 2030 and promotes the concepts of governance, and aims to facilitate procedures and develop rules governing dealing with State institutions and their various agencies, and coordination between relevant stakeholders. In addition, the Institute monitors and follows up on the status of Egypt in the indicators of governance, competitiveness, regional and international sustainable development; NIGSD develops a National Strategy and action plan to improve the status of Egypt in these indicators, in coordination with the various units of the State's administrative apparatus.
